The fall season is the perfect time to get outside and enjoy those brisk mornings and warm afternoons. The little bit of precipitation we have experienced over the past few weeks has brought some green back into the landscape, making now the perfect time to get out and enjoy a hike or two. Burnaby is just minutes away from the famous North Shore of Vancouver, and there you will find hikes of varying distance, skill level and difficulty. Contact the local visitor centre for more information about the trails of the North Shore Mountains. Remember to dress appropriately and always let someone know where you are going for safety reasons.

Now is also a great time to get out and do some bike riding. There are some great mountain biking trails that are built into Burnaby Mountain and exit near the campus of SFU. If a more leisurely paced ride is what you are looking for, there are great trails in and around the city of Burnaby and Vancouver. Again, contact your local visitor centre for more information about the bike trails, skill level and duration.
